Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in an Assistant Superintendent, supervisory, or high-level leadership role working in heavy industrial or civil construction with in-depth knowledge of processes, materials, and equipment especially in wet infrastructure and utilities
  • 5 years of experience operating heavy construction equipment and performing excavation and earthmoving work
  • Demonstrated proficiency in GPS knowledge, including machine control, layout, etc.
  • All candidates must either be current members of a local union or be willing to join one upon hire.
  • Must be currently living in the Greater St. Louis area.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and budget
  • Ensure all company protocols and excavation regulations are followed
  • Operate equipment proficiently in a safe and efficient manner, while producing high quality work and meeting production goals.
  • Enforce safety and quality control procedures.
  • Collaborate and build relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution
  • Keep all parties updated on project progress and concerns
  • Manage equipment needs, repairs, and maintenance
  • Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored when not in use.
  • Resolve any on-site issues promptly, making decisions that align with project objectives and company policies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project activities, including daily reports, progress photos, and any relevant documentation
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and other legal requirements
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and resolve issues, manage quality control, and ensure work is progressing as planned
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports and change orders
  • Manage the on-site company workforce to ensure proper training, compliance with company policies and procedures, and give ongoing performance feedback
