Shift: 5am - 1pm Primary Responsibilities: Support production of custom aluminum extrusions used in ceiling perimeter systems by working in a teamwork cell to manually powder-coat material, prep material, and set up, inspect and maintain paint equipment. General Responsibilities: Maintain continuous operations of rollform equipment; replace tooling, identify and implement machine adjustments, and actively troubleshoot efficiency losses. Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance production. Perform visual and gauge-specific quality inspections of parts, and make corrective actions as required. Verify conformance of finished work-piece to specifications using measuring and inspection tools. Perform basic machine preventive maintenance on roll form, press and other auxiliary equipment. Complete daily carton count, scrap and end-of-shift reporting as directed. Operate overhead bridge crane for loading/unloading of raw material, as well as other hand powered tools (training provided). Maintain all work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition at all times. Perform all work in a safe manner; use proper lock-out procedures during repairs or machine adjustments. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and make certain that all safety equipment is in proper working order. Perform these and other related duties as assigned or directed. Actively participate in communication and WAVE culture. In addition to the above general responsibilities, an operator must preserve a safe work environment and work in a safe manner following all safety SOPs. Measures of Effectiveness; including, but not limited to: Safety – OSHA rate, compliance to regulations/policies, evidence of risk reduction, engagement in 8-Step Safety Process, near-miss reporting Quality – Timely and accurate quality reporting, customer claims, quarantined product, ability to recognize defects and implement corrective actions through visual inspection while machine is in operation Productivity – Cartons per hour, PE%, downtime %, long bar scrap %, coil changeover time, troubleshooting Communication – Shift handoff and line preparation, Gemba, kaizen event participation

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Able to lift a maximum of 40 pounds
  • Able to stand 8-10 hours per day at assigned work area
  • Background check required

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience of machinery in manufacturing environment or similar.
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing, 6S, Six Sigma.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high performance manufacturing environment.
