Converted Mini Roll - Operator Summary of Job The Converting Operator is expected to safely and efficiently stage the necessary material for the converting operation; perform machine set-up and operate the converting line to produce finished products that meet or exceed all manufacturing and quality standards. The operator may need to assist on or operate other Converting equipment, assist on the extrusion lines, or in the shipping area.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1 year manufacturing preferred
  • Ability to take coaching well and communicate respectfully with others to ensure a positive teamwork culture.
  • Promote positive teamwork culture.
  • Ability to communicate with team effectively and respectfully and during shift transition.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.
  • Keep work area clean according to the 5S guidelines.
  • Keep all tools and equipment in proper places.
  • Enter production and quality check data electronically on a computer.
  • Assist on or operate other converting or manufacturing equipment and perform preventative maintenance on the laminator as required.
  • Track production data as required.

Responsibilities

  • Load WIP rolls of material on to the unwinds.
  • Set up the machine for various products.
  • Safely and efficiently produce converted products to the required specifications.
  • Remove excess trim scrap and throw away in compactor or place in recycling area.
  • Meet or exceed production quantity and quality standards.
  • Perform quality checks.
  • Operate the bandsaw safely and efficiently.
  • Relocate the finished pallet to the designated storage area.
  • Work up to a 12-hour shift as needed.
  • Read Shop Floor orders written in English.
  • Read accurately up to 1/32” on a measuring device like a tape measure.
  • Assist with other production assets as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
