About The Position

The Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) uses ophthalmic techniques to perform preliminary work-ups for patients of the Beaumont Eye Institute physicians. Coordinates patient appointments with BEI clerical staff and assists in genereal clinic support for the Eye Clinic and Low Vision Department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (required)
  • JCAHPO Certification (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical setting, Medical office, Refractive surgical suite, Medical lasers and minor procedure room. (preferred)
  • Minor lifting, walking, bending, standing for refractive surgery.
  • Technical & Surgical Skills.
  • Certified refractive surgical LASIK assistant.
  • Surgical Boarding.
  • 6 months experience as COA (preferred)
