About The Position

This position is responsible for setting up and operating machinery used for ground meat while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Summary: The team member is responsible for the general operation of the ground beef blender panel that control all augers and producing product according to the product schedule. This includes operating the equipment, opening the grinders, and assembling and disassembling the grinders. It requires ensuring the product meets customer expectations, including fat percentage, as well as food safety and quality requirements. This includes adjusting the machinery and product in order to ensure smooth operation and avoid loss. The operator is also responsible for keeping records on all raw materials and completing inventory and other paperwork as required. Must be willing to become Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) Certified. Must be willing to lift up to 100 pounds. Must be willing to work in a cold environment with temperatures ranging from 35 degrees to 50 degrees. All Tyson Team Members are responsible for safety. This includes but is not limited to personal safety and food safety. Work also requires other duties as assigned. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Ground Beef area is preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal.
  • Must be able to read, write, and interpret equipment general safety procedures to ensure safety.
  • Must be able to compete paperwork.
  • Candidates with 6 or more attendance points and/or any suspension discipline on file both within last 12 months at time of posting will not be considered.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekends/ holidays, if required.
  • Available to bargaining unit team members only.
  • This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only.
  • Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.
