Visit our website for more information: MyFWC.com As mandated by Section 20.055, Florida Statutes (FS), the FWC Office of Inspector General (OIG) coordinates activities that promote accountability, integrity, and efficiency in government. The OIG conducts performance and compliance audits of agency programs and investigates fraud, waste, abuse, mismanagement, and misconduct allegations involving FWC employees, contractors, and recipients of FWC funds. This position reports to the Director of Investigations and provides analytical and investigative support to the FWC OIG Internal Investigations Section. Responsibilities include collecting, analyzing, and presenting information related to criminal activity and administrative matters under investigation. Key duties include: Conducting research using agency systems, contracts, and other sources in support of OIG investigations. Developing profiles of individuals, businesses, or organizations associated with investigative matters. Reviewing and analyzing investigative and intelligence data, publications, and current events related to fraud, financial crime, public corruption, and other activities. Preparing clear, concise analytical reports and presenting findings through charts, graphics, written documents, and briefings. Producing intelligence bulletins and maintaining liaison with the FWC Division of Law Enforcement – Statewide Investigations Section on matters of mutual interest. Organizing work in accordance with case management procedures. Providing research support to the Internal Audit Section as needed. Additional responsibilities include: Maintaining liaison with federal, state, regional, and local intelligence and investigative partners to support information sharing; may serve as a Fusion Center Intelligence Liaison Analyst. Conducting initial complaint reviews, including assessment of body‑worn camera footage and other evidence, and preparing summaries for the Director of Investigations. Assisting with background investigations of OIG and FWC employees alongside an OIG investigator. Preparing the quarterly OIG leadership briefing, identifying trends, and assisting with preparation of the annual report. Completing other assignments as required.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, intelligence studies, or a related field; or relevant prior employment experience with a law enforcement, intelligence, or other investigative agency; and
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license; and
  • Applicant must successfully complete a background investigation, including fingerprints, prior to employment; and
  • Must obtain Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) certification within 30 days of employment.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, intelligence studies, or a related field.
  • Completion of the Florida Law Enforcement Analyst Training (FLEAT).
  • Completion of the Florida Law Enforcement Analyst Academy (FLEAA) or equivalent.
  • Two or more years relevant prior employment experience with a law enforcement, intelligence, or other investigative agency.
