About The Position

KLA is looking for high-energy interns for several exciting projects this coming summer in our Ann Arbor, Michigan location. This position provides a unique opportunity to learn about best-in-class industrial equipment for the semiconductor industry! You will have the opportunity to perform engineering work to develop opto-mechanical sub-components for KLA’s inspection tools. The individual in this role will work self-motivated in a team with other interns and engineers on a specific aspect of a larger project. In this position, the team member will design, model and document optical systems. You will be collaborating with engineers from different fields such as electrical engineering, optical engineering and computer science. The candidate will be using CAD and optical ray-tracing packages. Hands-on set-up and alignment of opto-mechanical sub-assemblies in a laboratory environment will be required

Requirements

  • The successful candidate should have taken classes in optics and have knowledge of opto-mechanical fundamentals.
  • You will need strong analytical capabilities, strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must demonstrate perseverance and ability to work collaboratively within a team setting with individuals across different geographies.
  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program in Optics, Mechanical Engineering or related field with immigration authorization to undertake corporate internship projects.
  • Requires less than 1 year of related experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Zemax and CREO is a plus.
