About The Position

The OR Supply & Equipment Technician assists with daily operations to support the operating rooms and participates as a member of the health care team to facilitate accurate and prompt perioperative care. The OR Supply & Equipment Technician is responsible for replenishing and distributing materials and supplies to the OR. They supervise all consignment, implants, disposable materials and equipment in the Operating Room areas. The Technician will oversee, requisitioning, par levels, data management, new product review and special orders for the OR department. They maintain awareness of all equipment in use and available to best serve the needs of the patient and department.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience: Prior health care experience preferred
• One year previous hospital perioperative or supply chain experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Works with OR manager and clinical leaders to assure that disposable materials, consignment and implants are available for case load.
• Assure vendor compliance with hospital policy.
• Places purchase orders by telephone, fax or other automated methods.
• Maintains follow-up action, and expedites emergency supply situations to insure an uninterrupted source of supply.
• Coordinates equipment repairs and/or allocation in collaboration with Biomed team and Vendors.
• Utilize Workday for requisition of Inventory, par level, replenishment of stock inventory to various locations and communicates with customers in a professional and courteous manner
• Coordinates the receipt, storage, inventory and issuance of all tissue supplies. assures proper documentation for all manufacturer recalls.
• Accepts additional duties with a positive attitude and is supportive of the unit.
