About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and support a mission-critical Oracle 19c environment running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, with a strong focus on RAC and ASM. This role requires a highly skilled professional capable of independently handling both routine maintenance and complex database operations while ensuring performance, security, and reliability.

Requirements

  • Expertise in Oracle RAC and ASM administration
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle 19c architecture and features, including Pluggable Databases (PDBs)
  • Proficiency in Linux (RHEL) shell scripting for automation and system management
  • Hands-on experience using Recovery Manager (RMAN) for backup and restore operations
  • Experience performing performance tuning at both the database and SQL query level
  • Strong SQL and PL/SQL scripting experience for automation and troubleshooting
  • Experience with patch management, including applying PSU/CPU updates
  • Familiarity with OEM, AWR, ADDM, and ASH reports for database monitoring and diagnostics

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Oracle Data Guard for disaster recovery and high availability
  • Experience configuring UDEV for ASM devices
  • Exposure to cloud-based Oracle deployments
  • Knowledge of automation tools for database operations

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and advanced database administration for Oracle 19c RAC and ASM environments
  • Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies using RMAN to ensure data integrity and availability
  • Manage database security, user access, and ensure compliance with established standards and best practices
  • Design and maintain physical data storage structures and oversee overall storage management
  • Monitor database performance, space utilization, and optimize system and query performance
  • Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation of backup, restore, and monitoring processes
  • Troubleshoot database issues, track risks and action items, and provide timely status updates
  • Support and coordinate database-related software releases, patches, and upgrades
  • Apply PSU/CPU patches and manage ongoing patching activities
  • Utilize tools such as OEM, AWR, ADDM, and ASH reports for monitoring and diagnostics
  • Perform SQL and PL/SQL scripting for automation, reporting, and issue resolution
  • Conduct capacity planning and forecasting to support future database growth
  • Assist in implementing security hardening measures including encryption and auditing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams while also executing tasks independently
