About The Position

Ocean Beauty Seafoods is a large and well-known Seafood Distribution Company. Our Astoria, Oregon distribution facility is looking for a full time Order Packer to pull, stage, and box fresh and frozen product in an accurate and timely manner coordinating the pack out with the fresh room and freezer staff according to customers request and specifications. We are looking for someone that has experience handling and processing fresh and frozen meat or seafood. This is an important position with room to make decisions, work with plant and sales personnel, and be a strong member of the team. Some understanding of inventory control and production is desired, but not required. Must be accurate in recording of product information, understand basic math, and able to communicate with all employees. Pay starting $21 to $23 per hour depending on experience.

Requirements

Requires a self-starter with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Must be able to work independently and as a team and follow written and verbal directions.
Must possess a good safety record and have experience in operating a pallet jack.

Nice To Haves

Some understanding of inventory control and production is desired, but not required.

Responsibilities

Properly pick and pack fresh and frozen orders accurately by customer specifications
Properly label boxes with customer name, route number, weights, and contents in each box
Weigh product and/or count pieces before packing and record weights/counts with 100% accuracy
Receive incoming product and records weight, number of boxes, species, counts, each, size
Understand safety and manufacturing practices in the handling of food products
May involve driving/delivering our product.
