The Receiver Clerk is responsible for receiving inventories, storing and restocking merchandise displays in the store, and delivering excellent customer service. In addition, the Receiver Clerk is accountable for maintaining backroom and receiving area conditions and practices to maximize store profitability. Essential Functions of the Position: Enforce store operating hours for receiving according to company policy. Control the flow of vendor traffic through receiving. Receive all merchandise and process all credits according to company procedures. Break down deliveries and move items to the appropriate location. Stock and clean shelves, storage areas, and frozen and dairy cases. Display new or transferred merchandise and face shelves throughout the store. Maintain back stock in good order. Verify invoices for accurate billing and maintain inventory control. Address discrepancies and shortages in invoice documentation according to company procedures. Control receiving, Direct Store Delivery (DSD), credits, and monitor all DSD deliveries. Interact with salespeople for efficient coordination. Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly. Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and barcode scanners safely and efficiently. Complete necessary paperwork, such as receiving reports, inventory logs, and damage reports, and communicating with management regarding inventory issues. Monitor for and report any theft, damage, or loss of inventory and take steps to minimize shrinkage. Monitor store conditions and report areas of concern to store management promptly. Perform other duties as assigned.
