Requirements

  • Knowledge of Florida Statutes, rules, and department policies relating to travel, inventory, records management, and budget processes.
  • Skills in Managing self and taking pride in providing exceptional customer service by responding with a sense of urgency, practicality, accountability, and integrity.
  • Working in a dynamic environment requires critical thinking and strong analytical skills.
  • Researching, compiling, and analyzing data to report findings and develop improvement solutions.
  • Using Microsoft Suite; including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.
  • Ability to Coordinate/facilitate meetings, workshops, training events, etc.
  • Listen actively.
  • Prioritize and complete complex work assignments.
  • Clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.

  • Two years of professional or nonprofessional experience in program or event planning, organizational or staff development, or professional development programs.
  • Post-secondary education can substitute for the required years of experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a point of contact for training and development initiatives.
  • Manage everything from planning and scheduling to logistics and communications.
  • Coordinate engaging in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, ensuring every detail is handled seamlessly.
  • Directly support ODO’s mission by aligning programs with strategic goals and fostering strong relationships.
  • Function as program coordinator and serve as the primary liaison to internal and external stakeholders for training and professional development programs.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor professional development activities and projects ensuring alignment with ODO program objectives.
  • Manage course schedules, training logistics, and meeting planning and facilitation, including registration, materials, and communications.
  • Coordinate event logistics to ensure facilities are prepared for in-person, virtual, or hybrid events.
  • Support ODO program needs by assisting with program planning, implementation, tracking, and reporting.
  • Conduct research and monitor trends to support the enhancement of existing professional development programs and the development of new offerings.
  • Collaborate with ODO staff, subject matter experts, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure effective program delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate and assist with records management.
  • Maintain accurate records, schedules, and documentation related to training programs, participation, and outcomes.
  • Monitor timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure efficient and effective execution of professional development initiatives.
