We are seeking a Advanced Practice Practitioner (physician assistant) to join four pediatric orthopedic surgeons and current physician assistants in our Pediatric Orthopedics Division. Reporting directly to the Orthopedic Division Chief, the Physician Assistant (PA) functions in an Advanced Practitioner role as a clinical expert in the management of pediatric patients within a family centered care environment. Practicing within developed Standardized Procedures and Process Protocols, the PA plans, implements and evaluates the plan of care. Must be able to take General Pediatric Orthopedic call at a Tertiary Pediatric Level I Trauma Center. Provides outpatient consultation and hospital consultation services. Examine, diagnose, treat and manage patients with Orthopedic problems. Assist in surgeries as appropriate. Provides Orthopedic consultative services to the emergency room. Conducts inpatient rounds as assigned. Provides inpatient consults. Establish and maintain good working relationships with children, parents, extended families, nursing staff, social workers, dieticians and other allied health professionals. Flexible prioritizing and taking care of problems and emergencies as they arise. Review laboratory results and imaging studies and provide feedback in a timely manner. Maintains and ensures that relevant patient records and properly updated and accurate. Adheres to Division clinical care guidelines and protocols as appropriate. Participate in weekly patient care rounds to review clinical service. If appropriate, timely submits accurate administrative time-logs.
