About The Position

We’re looking for an OSP Engineer I to join our Field Operations team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the design, documentation, and mapping of our outside plant (OSP) infrastructure—helping ensure our fiber and HFC networks are accurately designed, maintained, and ready to support our customers and communities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Cisco networking environments, including: Routing and switching (Layer 2 and Layer 3) Firewalls (FWSM, PIX, ASA) VPNs (Site-to-Site IPSec)
  • Strong knowledge of: TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, MSDP, PIM (SM & DM) Fiber optic network design and applications Coarse and Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) Co-location setup and coordination with providers
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams.
  • Experience using ARC GIS mapping software.
  • Working knowledge of Department of Public Works easements and right-of-way requirements.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Guam Driver’s License.
  • Positive and energetic personality.
  • Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Calm and approachable under pressure.
  • Self-motivated and able to make sound decisions.
  • Professional, empathetic, and customer-focused communication style.

Nice To Haves

  • CCNP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and document OSP system maps and diagrams for new builds, redesigns, and plant extensions.
  • Conduct field surveys of existing plant infrastructure and translate findings accurately into electronic mapping systems.
  • Create and maintain detailed system maps using AutoCAD and GIS-based tools.
  • Calculate and design HFC and fiber system components using manual and load data methods.
  • Prepare accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for construction, redesigns, and expansions.
  • Coordinate and ensure timely and accurate underground locates and clearance requests.
  • Support service, maintenance, and construction teams by addressing plant design questions and issues.
  • Assist contractors with underground clearance and right-of-way requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation to support daily operations and long-term network planning.
  • Follow all safety, security, and regulatory standards while performing duties.
