About The Position

Black Desert Resort is an ultra-premium destination resort located in Southern Utah, surrounded by red rock landscapes and outdoor adventure opportunities. The resort offers a variety of outdoor recreation experiences including biking, guided excursions, and wellness activities designed to enhance the guest stay and connect visitors with the surrounding environment. The Outdoor Adventure Customer Service Guide supports daily recreation operations by welcoming guests, assisting with bike rentals, and ensuring equipment is clean, maintained, and ready for use. The Outdoor Adventure Customer Service Guide – On Call greets guests arriving for outdoor activities, provides orientation on equipment usage, and ensures bikes and related gear are properly maintained and ready for guest use. This role focuses on creating a welcoming environment, assisting guests with equipment setup, and supporting basic bike maintenance to ensure safe and enjoyable recreation experiences. This position supports the recreation team during busy periods, special events, and peak occupancy days.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in outdoor recreation, bike rental operations, or customer service preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of bicycle maintenance and repair.
  • Strong communication and guest service skills.
  • Ability to explain equipment use clearly and confidently.
  • Strong attention to safety and equipment condition.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Flexible availability including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests arriving for outdoor recreation activities and provide a welcoming experience.
  • Welcome guests back after their ride or activity and assist with equipment return.
  • Provide instructions on how to safely operate resort bicycles and equipment.
  • Fit guests properly for bicycles including seat height adjustments and helmet fitting.
  • Conduct preventative bike care including tire pressure checks, chain lubrication, and safety inspections.
  • Perform basic bike repairs such as tightening components and making minor adjustments.
  • Wash and clean bicycles daily, ensuring all equipment is free of dirt and debris before guest use.
  • Clean and sanitize helmets, accessories, and equipment after each use.
  • Maintain an organized equipment area including bike racks, storage areas, and guest service counters.
  • Assist with activity check-ins and scheduling when needed.
  • Monitor inventory of bikes, helmets, locks, and accessories.
  • Coordinate with recreation leadership to ensure equipment readiness for scheduled activities.
  • Report maintenance issues or equipment concerns promptly.
  • Maintain a safe and organized outdoor recreation environment.
  • Uphold Black Desert Resort’s ultra-premium hospitality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
