Job Requirements: High School Diploma or GED (Required) Associate's Degree Graduate of an approved technical, professional or vocational program or Bachelor’s degree is preferred. 2 - 3 years Previous Pharmacy Tech experience (Required) 3 - 4 years Outpatient Pharmacy Experience (Preferred) National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) is required . Approved certification is through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PCTB) and ExCPT Certification by the National Healthcareer Association. Must be registered with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician. Required Job Overview: The Certified Pharmacy Technician III plays an advanced role in supporting pharmacy operations, working closely with pharmacists to ensure the safe, accurate, and timely distribution of medications. This position builds on the foundational responsibilities of earlier technician levels, while taking on greater leadership and operational duties. Key responsibilities include: Medication Dispensing: Assists in the preparation and dispensing of both hazardous and non-hazardous medications under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, in compliance with all state and federal regulations. Automation Oversight: Supports the maintenance and monitoring of automated medication distribution systems, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with safety standards. Patient Engagement: Proactively contacts patients to coordinate routine prescription fills and deliveries, promoting medication adherence and continuity of care. Operational Support: Manages inventory, processes prescriptions, and handles administrative tasks such as insurance claims and record-keeping, while also serving as a resource and mentor to less experienced technicians.
