The oncology pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care to various patient populations by compounding and dispensing medications to achieve optimal outcomes in the safest manner possible. In an effort to achieve these goals, the oncology pharmacist will take part in medication therapy evaluation, will provide drug information to staff and patients, will facilitate positive outcomes in their practice setting, and will participate in quality improvement activities. Helps achieve the mission of Loyola University Medical Center Pharmacy Services and Cancer Service Line by performing duties in a customer focused, cost effective, and results oriented manner.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to various patient populations.
- Compound and dispense medications to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Participate in medication therapy evaluation.
- Provide drug information to staff and patients.
- Facilitate positive outcomes in practice setting.
- Participate in quality improvement activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in pharmacy.
- Current Illinois licensure as a pharmacist.
Nice-to-haves
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred.
- Board certified in oncology preferred.
