The University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Outreach Coordinator to work on the UHealth campus. The Outreach Coordinator oversees the development and implementation of public education and outreach programs, and assumes responsibility for creating, planning, preparing, and executing varied programs to reach targeted populations. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Plans promotional, educational, and other events to increase community awareness. Researches and prepares reports, records, and other documentation to coordinate and implement public and outreach programs. Responds to public inquiries about program(s). Trains personnel to carry out an effective public education and outreach programs. Distributes educational literature. Documents daily activities and the number of contacts reached or served through outreach initiatives. Maintains effective lines of communications with current and prospective clients to ensure program goals and objectives are met. Promotes services offered to the targeted group. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Department Specific Functions Community Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact between Miami Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) and the local community, fostering meaningful relationships and trust. Event Coordination: Plan and execute outreach events to promote awareness of CFAR's research initiatives and engage community members. Plans promotional, educational, and other events to increase community awareness of the UM CFAR and potential collaborations. Tabling and Outreach: Represent CFAR at community events, health fairs, and conferences, disseminating information and engaging in conversations to educate and inform the public. Community Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and key stakeholders to collaborate on research projects and initiatives. Research Promotion: Develop creative strategies to effectively communicate the importance of research in improving community health outcomes. Data Collection: Collect feedback and data from community interactions to inform CFAR's outreach strategies and research priorities. This is a full-time position. Flexible hours, including some weekends, are required to fulfill the program’s outreach needs. Local traveling is involved. Candidates should be comfortable working within the described population.
