About The Position

Responsible for the day to day supervision of Phlebotomy team supervisors, site coordinators, phlebotomists, office assistants and temporary employees working in the patient service centers and in the out-patient areas of Miami Valley Hospital and other satellite locations.

Requirements

  • Must be High School graduate, or 5 years phlebotomy experience, or 5 years management experience.
  • Demonstrate phlebotomy, customer relation and organizational skills successfully in positions of progressively increasing responsibilities in a medical lab environment.
  • General knowledge of computer programs and progressively increasing that knowledge as work need dictates.
  • Demonstration of consistently high integrity and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Sound reasoning ability and good independent judgment.
  • Ability to work within specified deadlines and timetables.
  • Professional in all dealings with team members, customers and staff.
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets CompuNet’s insurability standards.
  • Must be available by phone 6:00 am – 9:00 pm Monday – Friday, 6:00 am – 1:00 pm on Saturdays, and 6:00pm-9:00pm on Sundays.
  • Able to work daily in an office setting that is often high stress and requires multi-tasking.
  • Able to meet all physical demands as described in phlebotomist’s position description.
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds and assist with the set up of new locations.
  • Be capable of all range of movement to include sitting, standing and bending while performing job duties.
  • Repetitive hand movements while utilizing computers.
  • Will have exposure to biohazard substances and hazardous chemicals.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to safety, ergonomic and health policies of the Company.
  • Comply with all PPE requirements when in the laboratory or other biohazard areas.
  • Complete required safety training and health evaluations in a timely manner.
  • Anticipate safety hazards, act upon unsafe situations and promote safety awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Patient Services regional team by providing direct supervision and mentoring to Patient Services team supervisor, site coordinators, phlebotomists, office assistants and temporary employees in concert with the company vision and mission to meet business objectives and customer expectations.
  • Support and promote customer and patient satisfaction/customer service initiatives.
  • Facilitate positive communication and interaction of Patient Services employees with internal and external customers.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with all company, department and regulatory policies and procedures for regional team.
  • Interview potential employees and recommend to hire.
  • Perform corrective action with regional team as needed.
  • Prepare department schedules that meet the needs of clients; monitor and manage employee over time to meet company goals.
  • Review timekeeping system functions and submit accurate employee payroll information in a timely manner.
  • Provide on-going development of the staff through coaching, mentoring, and continuing education.
  • Conduct one on one conversations with all regional staff to review performance and professional growth on an ongoing basis.
  • Coordinate remodeling and upkeep of Patient Service Centers.
  • Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the organization by promoting and encouraging the company goals outlined on the CompuNet Dashboard and help promote activities to achieve the current goal metrics.
  • Prepare and submit, as needed, data summaries for customer satisfaction and department productivity.
  • Handle patient and/or client issues in a customer friendly and timely manner.
  • Assist with department budgets by reviewing monthly budget variances.
  • Review supply orders and place orders in the supply ordering system.
  • Manage reviews of invoices and then submit to finance in a timely manner.
  • Perform all non-technical, administrative or educational duties as assigned.
  • Assist in the CompuNet phlebotomy training program.
  • Facilitate communication with internal and external customers in order to exceed customer service standards of the organization.
  • Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the organization by promoting and encouraging the continuous improvement philosophy, including Six Sigma and Lean.
  • Participate as a part of the CompuNet Management Team and attend managerial and operational meetings.
