We serve Kentuckians who have disabilities or experience other challenges finding success in the workforce, such as criminal backgrounds, language barriers, limited education, lack of transportation and chronic poverty. The Outreach Specialist conducts street outreach to persons who are experiencing homelessness, and/or visible needs, and may be in various community settings including but not limited to street corners and homeless camps within the Louisville Metro district. The focus of this work is to connect participants with the resources and services needed to remove barriers, find housing, maintain long-term employment, and a career path. Job Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt Essential Duties and Tasks: The Another Way Outreach Specialist conducts homeless outreach via van or on foot to identify, engage, and assist unhoused persons who are experiencing homelessness, on the street corner, living on the street, in encampments, abandoned buildings, or other unhoused situations. Provide outreach service methods to engage with unhoused persons with visible needs and to encourage them to accept short term work. Provides transportation to and from scheduled work sites, Goodwill Opportunity Center, and original pick-up location. Plays the lead role in planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling the outreach service with the clients that are participating each day and have the ability to implement discipline when needed (remove participant from worksite). Conducts assessment to determine service needs and begins navigation process to assist clients with programs and services. Conducts a warm hand off of participant to career coach and assist with case notes and documentation to include: Another Way Program Participant Intake Form and provided services. Perform other duties as assigned.
