About The Position

This position will work as part of a closely engaged team within the Saint Francis Center Outr each Department. This position is p art of the Denver Street Outreach Collaborativ e (DSOC), which consists of outreach staff from Saint Francis Center and Colorado Coalition for the Homeless , in direct collaboration and partnership with the City and County of Denver .

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, psychology, international relations , or other related field preferred or equivalent, related professional experience .
  • 1+ years of outreach and/or case management experience, preferably with individuals experiencing homelessness .
  • Required: Valid Driver’s License and willingness/ability to drive as part of work duties .
  • Strong team player with g ood collab orative and communication skills .
  • Ability to manage conflict, mitigate/respond to stressful situations and engage traumatic stories.
  • Understanding of and experience with addressing the impact of trauma, chronic medical conditions, behavioral health challenges and physical disabilities.
  • Ability to understand and maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality.
  • Exudes professionalism and has ability to listen with care, treat community members and collaborative partners with respect and dignity, and respond to each individual’s unique needs.
  • Willingness to participate in SFC agency responsibilities, meetings/retreats, and other trainings .
  • Willingness and ability to work with people from a variety of racial, cultural, social, and economic backgrounds with various lifestyles, sexual orientations, and of all ages and genders.
  • Required: C omputer skills and technical proficiency in Microsoft applications ( TEAMS, Word, Outlook, Excel , etc. ) and in documentation applications ( i.e. HMIS, Salesforce)
  • Knowledge in Trauma Informed Practices, de-escalation, Mental Health First Aid, and willing to maintain professional training standards in above

Responsibilities

  • E n gage and develop rapport with our unsheltered community members in Denver County, inviting them into services , utilizing trauma informed practices, motivational interviewing and person-centered methods.
  • This position may require response to City-directed outreach requests .
  • This position may include opportunities to provide zone-base d housing-focused case management support to a caseload of unsheltered community members .
  • Collaborate and coordinate supportive services within SFC, the larger DSOC teams, and from other organizations , including within the City and County of Denver.
  • Participate in shared activities and responsibilities with the greater SFC Outreach team
  • As an extension of DSOC, regular coordination and participation in DSOC meetings, trainings, and activities will be expected, to include: the city’s emergency cold weather night-outreach activation plan
  • Record timely and thorough documentation of all engagement efforts and services provided
  • This position may require extensive walking/coverage of distance, carrying of supplies for outreach activities , and the work is conducted outdoors in locations with varyin g terrain across Denver in all weather events . People selected for this position must be able to fulfill the requirements and work locations of the position .
