About The Position

Under direction of the supervisor and/or superintendent, oversees general operation of outside production area.

Requirements

• Is not a supervisor, but has certain responsibilities in leading others in the department.

Responsibilities

• Oversees work performed by employees on assigned shift outside production, including regular and seasonal workers.
• Communicates with cutting, inside production, quality control, planning, ag procurement and other departments as needed to keep each department informed of issues with raw material inventory and usage.
• Ensures proper usage of raw material based on age of product, quality, and production needs.
• Assigns work and checks work of employees.
• Be proficient in all outside production job tasks and perform any as needed (forklift operator, pickle pump operator, tractor driver, etc).
• Stages raw material (fresh and process) in appropriate areas and adequate amounts to ensure proper start up for the next shift.
• Keeps required reports, both computerized and on paper, accurate and up to date.
• Assists with inventory tracking and verification throughout the shift. Completes the end of shift Raw Material Inventory and provides appropriate documentation as needed.
• Maintains outside production areas in a clean and organized manner (yard, coolers, drop trailers, offsite warehouses, offices, etc).
• Follows safety rules and company policies and ensures all work is completed in a safe manner.
• Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as appropriate.
• Receives written and verbal instructions on the above job tasks and performs other duties as directed by Supervisor.
