About The Position

The On-the-Road Parts Salesperson is responsible for traveling within assigned territory to promote and sell parts directly to customers. This role focuses on building strong relationships, understanding customer needs, and providing timely solutions to support their operations. The salesperson will serve as the face of the company in the field, ensuring excellent service, accurate order fulfillment, and consistent follow-up. Success in this role requires a proactive attitude, strong product knowledge, and the ability to work independently while meeting sales goals.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Sales-driven with the ability to meet and exceed targets.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge or familiarity with automotive/industrial parts.
  • Proficiency in using mobile devices, GPS, and basic sales software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple customer accounts and prioritize tasks effectively
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in heavy-duty truck and trailer parts or service sales, or a related sales background.

Responsibilities

  • Visit and develop existing and potential customers on a regular route or territory.
  • Promote and sell parts and related products to meet customer needs.
  • Increase sales of aftermarket truck and trailer parts by maintaining and growing existing customer relationships.
  • Provide technical support to customers and work with vendors to resolve customer issues.
  • Maintain awareness of market conditions and customer needs while identifying cross-selling opportunities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business.
  • Provide product knowledge and technical support to customers.
  • Process orders, manage inventory, and ensure timely delivery of parts.
  • Identify new sales opportunities and expand customer base.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and inventory.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve issues.
  • Stay up to date on product offerings, industry trends, and competitor activity.
  • Travel regularly to customer locations and periodically to the branch.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
