About the position

The Behavioral Health Technician assists the multi-disciplinary treatment team to provide therapeutic and daily living services and structure to clients within a modified therapeutic community. The BHT also supports the workflow of the milieu and assists with de-escalation and emotional regulation. Responsibilities include modeling and teaching independent living skills, interacting with clients, observing behaviors, and communicating significant observations to the treatment team. The role also involves distributing medications and following medication management procedures, collecting urine analysis screens, performing routine room and living-area inspections, and completing and maintaining required documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the multi-disciplinary treatment team to provide therapeutic and daily living services.
  • Support the workflow of the milieu and assist with de-escalation and emotional regulation.
  • Model and teach independent living skills.
  • Interact with clients and observe behaviors, communicating significant observations to the treatment team.
  • Distribute medications and follow medication management procedures.
  • Collect urine analysis screens.
  • Perform routine room and living-area inspections.
  • Complete and maintain required documentation.

Requirements

  • CPR certification
  • Valley de-escalation certification
  • Driving positions require a minimum age of 21 and a current driver’s license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two years of behavioral health or social services experience
  • Previous experience with medication management.
