About The Position

For over 20 years, Avid4 Adventure has empowered kids to live active outdoor lifestyles through our unique outdoor programming. We are hiring Overnight Camp Clinic Supervisors for the following locations and roles: Camp Blue Sky (Grades 1st- 5th) - Evergreen, CO Camp Windy Peak (Grades 6th-12th) - Bailey, CO The Overnight Camp Clinic Supervisor is responsible for supporting our Camp Nurses, overseeing the administration of medications to campers and staff, coordinating visits to a physician when needed, monitoring health and cleanliness standards, and utilizing our medical record-keeping system (CampDoc). Our Candidate Help Center is here to help you find the best program, location, and position for you! Important Details Work Schedule: Overnight camps are a 24/7 operation. The leadership team will create a schedule that provides you with one evening off/week and segments of other time off throughout the week. Staff are required to live on site in the provided housing. Position Duration: Training begins by May 23 overnight camp programs run from May 31 through August 1. Compensation: Pay is determined based on position, additional responsibilities, relevant certifications, and staff tenure. Starting rate: $528/week Relevant Certification Bonuses: Wilderness First Aid: $100 EMT or Wilderness First Responder: $350 Additional bonuses available for $100 - $400 per certification paid end-of-season

Requirements

  • Must be at least 20 years of age.
  • Must have a desire to work in a 24/7 camp clinic environment serving children, providing customer service, and maintaining accurate and timely record keeping
  • Experience in medical administration, wilderness safety, and/or first aid required
  • Minimum of Basic First Aid, CPR, and Mandatory Reporter certification by the start of camp (and we can point you in the right direction to get this done!!)

Nice To Haves

  • Preference for driver strongly preferred (20+ with 3+ year driver's license and clean driving record)
  • Preferred Wilderness First Responder/EMT certification, higher medical certification, or a student in a medical field.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the collection, storage and administration of medications to campers and staff following the policies of Avid4 Adventure, State of CO, American Camp Association, and local health agencies
  • Work with the Assistant Director of Operations and Camp Nurse to keep health clinic in compliance with all regulatory agencies
  • Assist in a general health screening of all campers and staff during the summer including a general inspection of cabins, unit areas, showers, bathrooms and observation of general camper and staff health
  • Oversee all medication pack outs for offsite activities including outsources and backpacking experiences.
  • Ensure Camp Nurse, Camper Support Specialist, and all other camp staff are following Avid4 policies on keeping campers physically, mentally, and emotionally safe while at camp.
  • Assist in the organization and administration of regular daily clinic hours, utilizing the current standing orders for issuing treatment and medications
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records via our electronic medical record-keeping system, CampDoc
  • Take the lead of all family communication being provided by the camp’s clinic
  • Oversee the inventory of necessary medical supplies and equipment
  • Assist the AD of Operations and Camp Director with in-season training of Camp Nurses with a focus on medication intake and management, CampDoc, and family communication
  • Engagement with the campers and staff and be part of the camp experience
