We are seeking a porter/dishwasher to support the overall cleanliness, efficiency, and safety of our kitchen operations. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, including thorough cleaning of floors, surfaces, and equipment, as well as performing light maintenance tasks to support daily operations.

Requirements

1 to 2 years of porter and/or dishwasher experience in a café, restaurant, or food service business.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness.
Basic understanding of kitchen sanitation, safety, and light maintenance practices.
Proficiency in keeping the dish area organized and free of clutter.
Strong work ethic, well-organized, focused, attentive to detail with a sense of urgency.
Dependable and punctual.
Enthusiastic, team player with a positive attitude.
Able to communicate effectively with team members.
Respectful of fellow employees, managers, and vendors.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., reach, bend, and stand throughout an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

Ensure the kitchen area is clean and organized, including floors, countertops, and cooking equipment.
Efficiently wash, rinse, and sanitize soiled dishes, utensils, and cookware. Sort and store clean dishes properly.
Dispose of waste and recyclables according to established procedures. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of waste disposal areas.
Assist with cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and appliances.
Perform additional cleaning tasks as needed, such as mopping floors, cleaning surfaces, and restocking supplies.
Assist with general kitchen cleaning tasks to uphold hygiene and sanitation standards.
Keep the dish area free of clutter and organized to facilitate smooth operations and ensure easy access to necessary items.
Perform light maintenance duties, such as replacing light bulbs, tightening loose fixtures, minor equipment adjustments, unclogging drains, and reporting larger maintenance issues to management.
Support facility upkeep by ensuring storage areas, hallways, and common spaces are tidy and hazard-free.
