About The Position

Megaport We’re not your typical tech company – and we don’t want to be. Megaport is the global leader in Network as a Service (NaaS), and has transformed the way businesses connect to the cloud, data centers, and each other. We’re publicly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and partnered with the biggest names in tech like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, IBM, and more. Headquartered in Brisbane with a crew of over 400 people spread across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas, our employees enjoy an environment that is collaborative, supportive, and (actually) fun. Our Team Culture We’re a team of problem solvers, pixel pushers, code slingers, and cloud fanatics. Culture is more than a poster on the wall here – collaboration beats hierarchy, curiosity fuels our growth, and everyone’s voice matters. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. We work across time zones to execute on our global vision, trust each other to get things done, and never compromise our values for commercial gain. Most importantly, we place our customers at the center of everything we do. The Role Megaport’s Global People & Culture team is growing, and we’re looking for a driven anddetail-oriented Advisor or Business Partner to support our team. This US-based role offers exposure to global HR practices and the opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic (fun), forward-thinking (not boring), and dedicated (we love our work) P&C team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a remote environment, works autonomously, and takes initiative. You’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional employee experiences while partnering closely with leaders and supporting broader People & Culture initiatives across the business.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in a HR Generalist, Advisor or People Business Partner role (ideally within tech, SaaS or a scaling environment)
  • Solid working knowledge of US employment law, benefits (401k, healthcare), and employee lifecycle management.
  • The ability to operate with autonomy. You don’t wait to be told what to do, but you also know when to escalate
  • Strong judgement. You understand that every P&C decision impacts a person (and the business).
  • Commercial awareness. You can balance empathy with pragmatism.
  • Comfort working across time zones and cultures in a global team.
  • A systems mindset; you enjoy improving processes, not just running them.
  • The ability to prioritise when everything feels important. Clear, confident communication.
  • Written and verbal.
  • Curiosity. You like learning. You ask questions. You don’t settle for “that’s how it’s always been done.”

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, practical advice and guidance to employees and managers on a broad range of day-to-day P&C matters, applying sound judgement and escalating more complex or higher-risk issues as appropriate.
  • Focus on the NAM and LATAM regions for day-to-day support and guidance, but available to help and assist the P&C team across our global business.
  • Work closely with our Payroll and Legal teams to manage benefits, 401(k) and regionally-specific compliance requirements.
  • Support the business by managing employee lifecycle processes, with an emphasis on manager coaching, development, performance management and terminations.
  • Support our programmes, including global wellbeing, employee experience initiatives, health and safety activities, engagement, onboarding/offboarding feedback, learning & development and fun events that make Megaport an energising, inclusive, and genuinely great place to work.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of P&C operations, processes, HR systems, initiatives, policies, and procedures.
  • Research and maintain knowledge of local legal requirements, ensuring overall compliance with laws and regulations, and collaborating with the Legal team where required.

Benefits

  • Health Benefits & 401K Matching on Day 1
  • 20 Days PTO
  • Best team ever. Legit. (Sorry other teams)
  • Flexible work (remote-friendly & balanced schedules)
  • Birthday leave—celebrate yourself 🎉
  • Cool, creative office spaces (when you want ‘em)
  • Health & wellness program
  • Global team of experts who love what they do
  • Recognition programs that actually mean something
  • Generous study and training allowance + 5 days paid study leave
  • Opportunities for career growth and potential for global intra-company transfers for interested candidates
