Pack and Ship Lead
About The Position
Action Target has the creativity and drive to develop innovative new firearms training technology, the experience to properly apply that technology to solve today’s training problems, and the dedication to provide the best ongoing service and support in the industry! Pack/Ship Lead will plan, direct and coordinate transportation, storage and distribution activities and will oversee the preparation of shipments and cargo to ensure they arrive complete and intact. Organizes and performs a full range of duties that requires a thorough understanding of departmental organization, functions, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
- Have a valid Driver’s License
- 2-3 years of previous warehouse and shipping experience related a plus
- Have forklift experience
- Must be able to lift at least 70lbs and carry it for 20ft
- Ok to work in the elements – sun, rain, snow etc.
Responsibilities
- Pull, package, stage, and load orders in time for shipment to leave on ship date.
- Ensure that all outgoing shipments arrive accurately, complete, and intact.
- Help with LTL, FedEx, and UPS shipments
- Package parts to minimize loss or damage during shipping.
- Coordinate with Planning and or Sourcing on when outstanding product to pack or ship will be in stock.
- Entry of packages and shipments into computer tracking system
- Drive organizations continue improvement culture
- Help in the creation of area KPIs and other metrics
- Assist in quality investigations and policy development
- Report issues/problems to immediate supervisor
- Conduct periodic audits of the areas processes
- Ensure document control is properly completed
- Foster a team first culture by communicating effectively with other department
- Implement responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies.
- Train team members on organization policies and area procedures.
- Appraising performance and rewarding and coaching employees
- Other duties as assigned
