Packaging Supervisor – 2nd Shift DEPARTMENT: Packaging OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY: Supervise the packaging of quality products in a safe and cost-effective environment on assigned shifts to meet the production plan. Accountabilities Accountable for ensuring daily execution of maintenance routines as specified in the autonomous maintenance policy. Accountable for ensuring issues are identified and addressed on a timely basis. Supervise 2-4 packaging lines of quality products in a safe and cost-effective environment on assigned shift. Moderate direct impact on profitability through efficient planning, reduced downtime, reduction of scrap, and proper reporting. Responsibilities Meet or exceed production piece rates by controlling the costs, manpower, and support necessary to meet the schedule, on 2-4 lines. Implement projects for both departmental and corporate improvements. Train and motivate assigned hourly personnel. Coordinate activities with all related departments. Perform personnel activities such as communication, appraisal, discipline, meetings, written procedures, etc. Monitor accuracy of a variety of reports such as bar code, labor, batch record/shop order reconciliation, safety, and data entry, as required over the 2-4 lines of responsibility. Perform other related duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS degree or the equivalent. Minimum of four years of related experience including one year of supervisory experience.
