About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Packout Operator will be responsible for ensuring all related pack-out equipment is performing to production standards (must be trained in LOTO before being trained or performing job tasks in position) and for understanding the Product Quality of the product being produced. This position will also assist with the setup and breakdown of the production line and daily equipment checks to ensure they are working correctly while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson's policies and procedures. This position will be responsible for working on rework and cleaning when needed. Machine Operator operates machinery for continuous and efficient production of high-quality flour tortillas.

Requirements

  • Applicant must have 3 months of experience with any employer.
  • COMPLETED LOCKOUT/TAGOUT TRAINING REQUIRED.
  • Must be able to work weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Requires wrist and hand flexibility.
  • Walking, bending, standing, and some lifting are required.
  • Up to 50 lbs. is lifted frequently.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to use a calculator for addition, subtraction, and averaging to document production information.
  • Must be able to write production recordings in the Operator’s Log and accurately and complete any production documentation.
  • Must read the Operator’s Log, SOP, and job-related SOPs and documentation.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and communicate with others, have problem-solving abilities, and have basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Must be able to review, understand, and follow supervisor instructions.
  • 3 Time Rule and 180 Days Rehire Waiting Period.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares for start-up or shut down of equipment.
  • Stops machine to make required adjustments following lockout-tagout policy.
  • Maintains good manufacturing practices and personal hygiene.
  • Keeps department clean and neat.
  • Notifies Supervisor and QC of contamination.
  • Must be able to perform the Packout Operators Training Checklist (PR26.1) job tasks by the end of the 10-working day trial period.
  • Calibrating machines through basic equipment adjustments
  • Ensure product specifications are met in accordance with customers' written specifications.
  • Must adhere to all safety policies and safely operate equipment.
  • Must have the ability to enter data into the Plant View system.
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting any wear and tear on equipment.
  • Responsible for controlling the machine speed by anticipating and responding to changes in the speed of product flow.
  • Responsible for assisting the Lead in the stocking line and monitoring the box machine (box machine where applicable).
  • Responsible for ensuring the product is sealed properly and all seals are tight.
  • Responsible for ensuring the printer works correctly and the correct date is applied.
  • Must be able to perform product changeovers as needed.
  • Abide by all company policies/procedures, written or verbal.
  • Work as a team member toward task accomplishments.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned.
  • Required to work rework.
  • Required to clean area when the line is down or as time permits.
