Primary Responsibilities: Ambassadors of change. Responsible for day-to-day operation/maintenance of the PACS/RIS equipment including electronic image workflow, merging, dictionary administration, exceptions resolution, system lean process improvement and other related activities. Develops system error/call log and utilizes problem solving skills to correct and minimize errors. Maintains integrity of data. Oversee accuracy of dictionaries in RIS. Responsible for accuracy of system settings in PACS/RIS. Plan, coordinate, and implement upgrades of PACS (equipment and software) – 20%25 Develops a change management program for all system changes. Oversee activities of all the vendors during installation and implementation of new equipment. Helps develop a long-term plan relative to the phased implementation of PACS/RIS – 15%25 Physician and customer liaison. Fosters collaboration between PEMC, Radia and TEC community PACS/RIS initiatives. Standardize processes. Creates training protocol for physicians and staff. Works closely with TEC training department. Facilitates and conducts PACS/RIS training sessions for physicians and Radiology staff and related systems. Participate in coordinating, planning, training & implementing teleradiology system – 10%25 Develop daily, weekly, annual QA and benchmarking metrics. Understands trends and develops process improvement initiatives for electronic lean processes – 10%25 Investigates, identifies and prepares proposals to solve operational problems with the clinic. Maintain integrity of PACS/RIS training, troubleshooting & problem follow-up. Reports these problems to the Director as needed – 5%25 Acts as a liaison between Radiology and other departments, such as Clinitech, concerning issues that will affect the operations of the PACS/RIS. Works with reimbursement and the business office managers to assure appropriate billing and revenue capture. Installs and updates procedure and ICD-9 codes in a timely manner – 5%25 Responsible for helping to prepare the budget for any items needed for PACS/RIS including PACS/RIS continuation projects, equipment needs and personnel. Participate in the equipment buying team. Coordinate special projects for PACS/RIS. Involved in purchase of PACS/RIS. Coordinate installation of (new) PACS – 5%25 Communicate changes, PACS/RIS updates/upgrades to all necessary users. Communicates effectively with employees with regards to department policy and procedures relating to the PACS systems – 5%25 Insure/assign network security by developing rules that will support user-defined workstation settings. Develop a disaster plan. Ensure virus scanning of the network is performed routinely with Clinitech, and the Systems Administrator. Record daily backups and ensure quality of the system – 5%25 Provides input and assist with workflow process improvement initiatives for daily operations of Film Library. Coordinate film digitizing and CD processing activities. Develops and maintains new job descriptions for film Library staff (Electronic Imaging technicians.) – 5%25 Provides technical support when staff shortages occur – 5%25 Attends and participates in department meetings. Attend seminars and training sessions to maintain appropriate level of professional competence. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 3+ years of experience supporting Medical Imaging equipment
  • 3+ years of experience with Radiology principles and imaging techniques

Nice To Haves

  • AA in Computer Science
  • ARRT/RDMS/CNMT certification
  • Excellent knowledge of entire Radiology Clinical workflow
  • Proficient in all PACS applications
  • Knowledge of Crystal Reports and system settings
  • Understands HL7, Connect R and basic integration technology including DICOM and IHE protocols
  • Able to collect, analyze and distribute statistical reports to provide required information and the ability to draw conclusions from the results and suggest ways to improve and resolve issues
