About The Position

The Lead PACS/RIS/IT Support Specialist manages and optimizes the organization’s PACS, RIS, and related IT systems, leading integrations, interfaces (HL7, DICOM), and projects with hospitals, imaging partners, and vendors. This role oversees system implementations, upgrades, workflow improvements, and troubleshooting while coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure reliable, compliant operations that support high-quality patient care. Duties: PACS/RIS Administration & Optimization- Lead the configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization of PACS, RIS, and related imaging systems to ensure reliability, efficiency, and scalability across all facilities. Interface Development & Integration- Design, implement, test, and maintain HL7, DICOM, and other system interfaces. Lead integrations with hospitals, radiology groups, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless data and image exchange. Technical Project Leadership- Manage multiple concurrent technical projects including new implementations, system upgrades, vendor integrations, and workflow enhancements. Coordinate timelines, testing, and go-live support. Vendor & Partner Collaboration- Serve as the primary technical liaison for external vendors and healthcare partners, coordinating interface specifications, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. Advanced Troubleshooting & Support- Provide high-level escalation support for complex system and integration issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term solutions. Data Integrity, Security & Compliance- Ensure secure data transmission, system integrity, backups, and compliance with HIPAA and applicable healthcare regulations. Documentation & Training- Maintain detailed system and interface documentation. Provide technical guidance and training to staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of PACS/RIS/IT experience in a healthcare environment
  • Demonstrated experience building, testing, implementing, and supporting system interfaces (HL7, DICOM, VPN, SFTP, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of radiology workflows and interoperability standards
  • Experience coordinating with third-party vendors, hospitals, or healthcare partners on system integrations
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent technical projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for complex systems and integration issues
  • Experience with Intelerad PACS preferred
  • Ability to perform essential duties of the position
  • Ability to read, write, understand, speak, and follow English instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats
  • Strictly follow HIPAA compliance guidelines at all times
  • Must have reliable transportation and maintain current automobile insurance as required by Nevada state law
