About The Position
Memorial Hermann Surgery Center, Woodlands Parkway, located in The Woodlands, Texas, is a premier outpatient surgical facility offering high-quality care in a patient-focused environment. As a joint venture with United Surgical Partners International (USPI) and part of the Memorial Hermann Health System, we specialize in a wide range of procedures with a commitment to safety, efficiency, and excellence. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced PRN PACU Registered Nurse to join our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit team. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient recovery, able to respond swiftly in critical situations, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, efficient care to patients in the immediate post-anesthesia phase
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions or complications following surgery
- Manage airway, pain control, and vital signs until patients meet discharge criteria
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly
- Administer medications and respond to changes in patient status using sound clinical judgment
- Provide patient education and post-op instructions to patients and their families
- Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and fellow RNs to ensure seamless transitions of care
- Adhere to infection control and patient safety standards at all times
