About The Position

The Paint Foreman plays a critical leadership role in overseeing and coordinating all painting operations on job sites across the United States. This position ensures that painting projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards, meeting client specifications and deadlines. The Paint Foreman manages a team of painters, providing guidance, training, and support to optimize productivity and workmanship. They are responsible for planning daily work schedules, inspecting completed work, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Ultimately, the Paint Foreman drives project success by balancing operational demands with team management and quality control.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial or industrial painting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in OSHA safety standards or equivalent safety training.
  • Experience with specialty coatings such as epoxy, polyurethane, or fireproofing paints.
  • Familiarity with project management software and digital reporting tools.
  • Previous experience working on large-scale construction or industrial projects.
  • Leadership training or certification.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of painting crews to ensure timely and quality completion of projects.
  • Develop and implement daily work schedules, assigning tasks based on skill levels and project requirements.
  • Inspect work sites regularly to ensure adherence to safety standards, quality specifications, and client expectations.
  • Train and mentor painting staff on proper techniques, safety protocols, and use of equipment and materials.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other trades to facilitate smooth workflow and resolve any onsite issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, and equipment usage for reporting and project tracking purposes.
  • Ensure all painting equipment is properly maintained and that supplies are adequately stocked and ordered as needed.
