About The Position

The Painter is responsible for performing all types of industrial painting work. Prepares various surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, burning, sanding, sandblasting or other means as necessary. Mixes, matches, and blends various paints, enamels, lacquers, varnishes, stains and special protective coatings to achieve desired color, consistency and drying properties. Caulks, putties, cements or plasters holes and cracks. Paints buildings, structures, equipment and furniture using brush, spray gun or other applicators. Prepares wall and hangs paper or other wall covering materials. Determines quantity and requests supplies. Cleans, stores tools and equipment, and cleans work sites.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • One year of experience at a level equivalent to painter or similar work experience required.
  • Knowledge of industrial applications and appropriate coatings for metal and structures.
  • Knowledge of practices, tools, equipment and techniques associated with painting trade.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Current California State Driver’s License.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older; must have (2) years of continuous driving experience in the state of California.
  • If a license is suspended, the experience record begins from the time of license reinstatement.
  • Must have no major convictions (ie DUI/DWI, hit and run, driving with suspended license, reckless driving, alluding police, open containers, exhibition of speed (racing), negligent driving); must have no more than one (1) moving citation in a three (3) year period; must have no more than one (1) at- fault accident in a three (3) year period.
  • Accidents will be considered at- fault unless evidence is provided (ie police report and/or letter from insurance company) showing the incident as not at-fault).

  • Hospital experience preferred.
