The Painter applies paint, varnish and other finishes or wall coverings to decorate and protect interior and exterior building surfaces at all MHM/MHS facilities in Memphis. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Class D Driver License -Tennessee - Tennessee Motor Vehicle
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic and calculations as would be required through the completion of high school.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with co-workers and the ability to read and follow instructions as would be required through the completion of high school.
  • Ability to organize tasks and maintain control of work flow.
  • Knowledge of proper materials and equipment required for preparation of surfaces and application of painting techniques.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT background check based on work facility.

Nice To Haves

  • No prior work experience
  • Class D Driver's License - Arkansas - Arkansas Motor Vehicle
  • Class R Driver's License - Mississippi - Mississippi Motor Vehicle

Responsibilities

  • Receives and prioritizes work orders and creates materials list.
  • Applies specified finishing products to surfaces in a timely and quality manner.
  • Prepares different surfaces for painting, finishing techniques, materials, and cleans and repairs tools and equipment.
  • Demonstrates effective customer service skills promoting a positive work environment and contributes to the overall team effort.
  • Understands and applies all policies, procedures and standards.
  • Demonstrates safe work practices and visibly leads other Associates in supporting a strong safety culture.
  • Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.
