About The Position

The Palletizer plays a critical role in processing plant and cooler operations, responsible for stacking and organizing filled egg cases onto pallets according to production orders. This position also assists automated palletizing robots by monitoring performance, ensuring proper case flow, clearing jams, and maintaining accurate labeling and stacking standards. The Palletizer directly supports Food Safety and Food Quality standards by ensuring all cases are properly stamped, labeled, wrapped, and stored. This role works with limited supervision while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and teamwork in a fast-paced production environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to safely operate an electric pallet jack is preferred
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to assist with automated equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Positive, dependable, and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to maintain speed and efficiency while handling fragile products.
  • Ability to lift up to 50-55 pounds repeatedly for extended periods.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Comfortable working in a processing plant environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated conditions (40–45°F).

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with the setup team to confirm production orders and required quantities.
  • Assist palletizing robots by monitoring operation, ensuring proper case alignment, clearing minor jams, and reporting mechanical issues to maintenance.
  • Verify that all cases are correctly stamped, dated, taped, and labeled before palletizing.
  • Stack cases squarely and securely, ensuring stamps and labels face outward.
  • Place cardboard tier sheets appropriately on pallets.
  • Use only undamaged pallets.
  • Move completed pallets to designated cooler locations and label with pallet tags accurately.
  • Properly mark rows containing product from different Julian dates.
  • Obtain correct labels and scan them accurately into inventory systems if needed.
  • Monitor tape levels and taper operation regularly. Clear any jams and remove any damaged product.
  • Apply proper wrapping techniques to carts and ensure labeling compliance.
  • Store carts in designated areas and consolidate rows when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Monitor production lines to anticipate workflow needs and prevent downtime.
