About The Position

The Pantry Cook is responsible for the preparation, production, and presentation of fresh desserts and cold items made in-house. This role supports daily service, events, and banquets by ensuring consistent quality, proper food handling, and visually appealing dessert offerings in line with the hotel/restaurant standards.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of similar roles and nature.
• Previous experience as a Pantry Cook, Pastry Cook, or Pastelero (hotel or restaurant experience preferred).
• Basic knowledge of pastry techniques and dessert preparation.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality and presentation.
• Availability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
• Team-oriented attitude with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce fresh desserts, pastries, cakes, mousses, tarts, and cold preparations according to recipes and standards.
• Assist with plating and presentation for service, events, and banquets.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pantry and pastry station at all times.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards (HACCP / ServSafe).
• Properly label, store, and rotate products following FIFO procedures.
• Assist with prep for special events, banquets, and seasonal menus.
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen and service team to ensure timely execution.
• Monitor inventory and report low stock or product needs to the supervisor.
• Support the Executive Chef or Pastry Chef with new dessert ideas when needed.
