About The Position

As the Park Ranger - Housekeeping, you will be part of an exceptional team dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction within the park. In this role, you will supervise the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping and maintenance staff, ensuring that all facilities and grounds are well-maintained and meet current safety and quality standards. Requirements

Experience with housekeeping operations including managing housekeeping duties in a commercial, institutional, or recreational facility, with a focus on cleanliness and safety standards.
Supervisory experience such as leading a team, including assigning tasks, training staff, and ensuring accountability for housekeeping duties.
Knowledge of cleaning procedures and products including familiarity with various cleaning agents, techniques, and equipment used in maintaining facilities to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Experience with the maintenance and upkeep of buildings and facilities.

Nice To Haves

Experience with inventory management applications.
Experience with parks and recreation or similar environment.
Experience with computer-based applications for scheduling employees, budget tracking, facility/equipment management.
Experience with the direct supervision of employees or volunteers.

Responsibilities

Overseeing Cabin Operations: Manage the housekeeping operations for cabins and other overnight facilities, ensuring that all areas are clean, safe, and ready for guests' arrival, while addressing any issues promptly.
Supervising and Assigning Work: Provide daily supervision and leadership to part-time staff, volunteers, and alternate work force members. Assign tasks effectively, ensuring that all duties are completed efficiently and up to standard.
Visitor Interaction and Support: Perform tasks related to fee collection, assist visitors with inquiries, and provide public relations services, ensuring guests have a positive experience while visiting the park.
Education and Enforcement: Educate Park visitors on park rules, regulations, and safety guidelines, promoting responsible enjoyment of the facilities.
Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs to facilities and grounds, ensuring that all areas remain in excellent condition. Assist with ongoing upkeep projects as needed.

DCR classified, retired, and wage staff (after six months of service) are entitled to overnight facility discounts, such as:
Free camping outside of the Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day period in sites designed for up to six people.
Free camping Sunday night through Thursday night (excluding the night before a holiday) from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
Fifty percent discount on cabins (up to 3 bedrooms) outside of Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day, for a maximum of 14 nights. All reservations require a two-night minimum. Bunkhouses, camping cabins, and yurts are included; one-night yurt stays only receive a 25% discount.
