About The Position

This is maintenance and personal services work in providing services to park users at a state park or day use area. Work may also include: Cleaning and general maintenance of picnic sites and/or campsites Preserving hiking trails and trail heads Maintaining boat launch facilities Enforcing Park rules and regulations to ensure the safety of the environment, facilities, and park users Operating specialized equipment such as backhoes, front-end loaders, and tractors to maintain the park areas Meeting and greeting the public and providing information concerning public lands facilities and rules, historical data, and other related information to advise the public Directing and overseeing the activities of a small crew of maintenance and operations personnel For questions specific to the position, please contact the Regional Manager, Matthew Hamilton, at (207) 941-4014 or by e-mail at Matthew.Hamilton@maine.gov

Requirements

Education, training, and/or experience in park operations or maintenance, or another closely related field.
Valid Class C Maine motor vehicle operator’s license.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or have legal authority to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Cleaning and general maintenance of picnic sites and/or campsites
Preserving hiking trails and trail heads
Maintaining boat launch facilities
Enforcing Park rules and regulations to ensure the safety of the environment, facilities, and park users
Operating specialized equipment such as backhoes, front-end loaders, and tractors to maintain the park areas
Meeting and greeting the public and providing information concerning public lands facilities and rules, historical data, and other related information to advise the public
Directing and overseeing the activities of a small crew of maintenance and operations personnel
