This internship is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the various divisions within the Parks and Recreation Department. The primary focus areas of the internship are recreation programming, facility operations, marketing, and special events. The individual in this position will also have the opportunity to shadow and learn about the other divisions including the living history museum and parks maintenance. The Parks and Recreation Intern reports to the Program and Marketing Manager and will assist with the monitoring and oversight of program staff, instructors, and volunteers. The position entails frequent internal and external contacts that require considerable public relations skills. There is direct interaction with customers, the general public and other departments within the City. The hiring range for this position begins at $16 per hour for current college students, and $17.50 per hour for graduates of a bachelor's program.
