Part-Time Bus Driver
About The Position
Verna Hills is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and safety-minded Bus Driver to join our team. We provide daily transportation for second-chance citizens in a minimum- security work-release program. This role directly supports individuals working to rebuild their lives, making your work both meaningful and rewarding. Schedule This is a split-shift position requiring early morning and evening availability: • Morning Route: 4:30–5:00 AM start, finished by 6:30 AM • Evening Route: 4:00 PM start, finished by 6:00–7:00 PM (depending on Atlanta traffic) • Hours: 32–35 hours per week
Requirements
- 3+ years of commercial driving experience with a strong safety record
- Valid CDL with Passenger (P) and Airbrake endorsements (preferred)
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working with justice-involved individuals in a supportive, professional manner
Responsibilities
- Safely transport passengers between facilities and job sites
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain professionalism and courtesy at all times
- Ensure on-time arrivals and departures
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and facility staff
- Promote a safe, respectful riding environment
