About the position
The essential functions of the job for the Dining Staff require maintaining a clean and organized dish area, communicating effectively with servers, cooks, and management, and ensuring that all kitchen items are properly washed, sterilized, and stored. The role involves following a cleaning schedule, assisting cooks, and transporting food to the dining room while adhering to health and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain dish area by keeping clean, tidy, and filling out temperature log
- Communicate with servers, cooks, and management professionally
- Wash and sterilize pots and pans, dishes, and silverware
- Put kitchen items away when clean
- Take trash out and maintain cleanliness of the area
- Sweep and mop floor in kitchen areas
- Clean out inside and wipe outside of refrigerators and walk-in coolers
- Follow cleaning schedule
- Assist cooks when necessary
- Set up trays (fill orders) and take to dining room for servers
- Transport food when necessary, including ensuring proper portioning, utensils are available, and temperature logs are complete
- Run tickets back and forth from the kitchen to the dining room as needed
- Bus tables in dining room to expedite service and get dishes back to dish area for cleaning
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
- Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or a GED
- Must be able to work well with peers in a congenial work environment
- Must maintain the utmost compassion and dignity to the residents and adhere to the Resident Bill of Rights
- Must adhere to Viva Senior Living’s attendance policies and follow the terms and conditions of employment as set forth in the Employee Handbook
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Must maintain the highest standards in caring and servicing the needs of the residents and residents' family members and loved ones
- Must adhere to all facility policies and procedures
