About The Position

We’re currently looking for a Part Time Mother’s Helper in Silver Spring, MD (20903) A warm and reliable Mother’s Helper is needed to support a busy two-parent professional family with two young daughters (ages 5 and 1) in the Silver Spring Metro Area. Care is needed Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5pm-9pm, with additional availability a plus but not required. A parent will always be present in the home. This role is designed to support the family during times when a parent is home but needs to focus their time for work, household tasks, or personal time. Start date: Immediate Length of Position: Ongoing Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM (additional hours optional) Rate: $18-$22 per hour 2 Children: Ages 5 and 1 years old

Requirements

• Prior experience (0-1 year minimum) with infants and/or toddlers (babysitting, childcare roles, or family caregiving)
• Comfort working in a home with a large, friendly dog (no pet care needed)
• CPR and First Aid certification, or willing to renew
• Reference(s) from previous childcare or caregiving role(s) required
• Ability to pass a background check and social media screening

Nice To Haves

• Spanish or Vietnamese language proficiency

Responsibilities

• Engage children in safe, age-appropriate play and activities
• Supervise the 1-year-old during play, meals, and nap routines
• Support the 5-year-old with crafts, reading, and light learning activities
• Assist with children’s meals and snacks
• Light housekeeping related to the children (dishes, tidying the kitchen, and general pickup)
• Accompany children on walks or park outings
• Follow established routines and communicate updates with parents
