About The Position

The Company Police Officer is a sworn law enforcement professional commissioned under North Carolina General Statutes (Chapter 74E). This position is responsible for protecting life and property, enforcing state laws and local ordinances, and maintaining a safe and secure environment on assigned properties. Officers are expected to operate with a high level of independence and professionalism, frequently working solo assignments without immediate backup while making critical decisions in dynamic situations.

Requirements

  • Must possess one or more of the following: o Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field with a minimum of 1–2 years of law enforcement experience o High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2–3 years of sworn law enforcement experience
  • Successfully completed Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) or eligible for certification in North Carolina
  • Must meet certification standards established by the NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission
  • Valid North Carolina driver’s license
  • No felony convictions; must demonstrate good moral character
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of sworn law enforcement experience preferred
  • Experience working independently with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to handle calls for service, enforcement actions, and investigations without immediate backup
  • Strong knowledge of North Carolina laws and law enforcement procedures
  • Effective report writing and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and de-escalation abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Company Police, military police, or private law enforcement experience
  • Experience in solo patrol or remote assignments

Responsibilities

  • Enforce all applicable North Carolina laws, local ordinances, and client policies
  • Conduct proactive patrols on foot and in vehicles to deter and detect criminal activity
  • Respond to calls for service including alarms, disturbances, suspicious activity, and medical emergencies
  • Operate as a single-officer unit while maintaining officer safety and situational awareness
  • Conduct preliminary and follow-up investigations
  • Make lawful arrests and issue citations in accordance with state law
  • Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports and documentation
  • Provide traffic control and enforce parking regulations as needed
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary
  • Testify in court and administrative proceedings
  • Provide professional customer service to clients, employees, and the public
  • Enforce company policies and maintain compliance with regulatory standards
  • Maintain all assigned equipment and ensure operational readiness
