About The Position

The Engineering and Science Services and Capabilities Augmentation (ESSCA) contract provides engineering, scientific, and technical support to NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, AL. Our Structural Dynamics & Integration team is a high performing group executing challenging tasks for dynamic analysis of the Space Launch System (SLS) and Human Lander System (HLS) including the Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) functions. This exciting work will serve as a critical step in sending humans to the Moon, Mars and beyond! Responsibilities: We are searching for a part time senior engineer to provide Structural Dynamics Modeling support for HLS development. Working independently and in an integrated, collaborative team, your responsibilities would be to: Develop finite element methods to perform coupled loads analysis and use Craig-Bampton model reduction theory to prepare models for integration and hardware modal testing. Perform structural dynamic analyses in support of the design and design verification of space flight vehicle systems. Producing and maintaining models generated from both in-house and commercially available software codes, that simulate mechanical loading conditions, dynamic environments (shock and vibration), and mechanism motions. Support Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) of prime vendors for methods and model integration. Generating detailed analysis reports and presenting/communicating those results with the customer Perform safety and certification training to support ESSCA and customer requirements. The Amentum Space Exploration Division (ASED) offers a partnership in which you can grow personally and professionally within a framework of strong leadership, competitive compensation, and rewarding career paths. Come join our team on the Engineering Services and Science Capability Augmentation (ESSCA) contract whose work is destined to have a long-range effect on future generations!
