About the position

The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND. As a Part-Time Student - Software Engineer for John Deere located in Champaign, IL, you will collaborate with senior level developers to create internal and customer-facing solutions using low-code and hybrid-code platforms. You will develop dashboards for internal and external stakeholders to help make better data-driven decisions with regards to governance and maintenance of enterprise level tools. Additionally, you will leverage low-code, hybrid-code, and pro-code platforms to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve business and technical needs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior level developers to create internal and customer-facing solutions using low-code and hybrid-code platforms.
  • Develop dashboards for internal and external stakeholders to help make better data-driven decisions with regards to governance and maintenance of enterprise level tools.
  • Leverage low-code, hybrid-code, and pro-code platforms to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve business and technical needs.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in a Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • A self-starter with good time management and communication skills.
  • A strong desire to learn new concepts.
  • Ability to work 16-20 hours during the academic year.
  • Ability to work 30-40 hours during the summer semester.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in low-code tools such as the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Leveraging APIs that require modern authentication such as OAuth.
  • Microsoft Graph API consumption.
  • Workflow design.
  • Experience working through a backlog using Agile.
