About The Position

Sterling KIA in Lafayette, LA is hiring! We are looking for motivated individuals who take pride in serving Acadiana and being a part of a successful family-owned and operated business. As a Parts Advisor, you will assist customers and service technicians by identifying, locating, and providing the necessary automotive parts and accessories. In addition, this role will serve as the primary Cashier for the Parts and Service Departments, handling customer transactions and supporting a smooth front-counter experience. You will maintain accurate inventory records, ensure efficient ordering and stocking, and deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • At least 1–2 years of experience in automotive parts, retail, cashiering, or customer service is required
  • Previous experience handling cash and customer transactions is strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems and parts terminology, with proficiency in parts inventory software and electronic catalogs preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and be at least 21 years of age or have 3 full years of driving experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers and service technicians in selecting appropriate parts and accessories
  • Accurately identify parts using electronic catalogs, manuals, and other resources
  • Process parts orders efficiently and ensure timely delivery or pickup
  • Serve as the primary Cashier for the Parts and Service Departments, including processing customer payments, repair orders, and invoices
  • Handle cash, credit, and other payment methods accurately and in accordance with dealership policies
  • Answer incoming calls, greet walk-in customers, and provide knowledgeable assistance regarding parts, pricing, and service transactions
  • Work closely with the Service and Sales Departments to ensure correct parts and billing information are applied to repair orders
  • Monitor and manage special orders, returns, and warranty parts
  • Maintain and organize parts inventory, including stocking, labeling, and regular cycle counts
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front counter and work area
  • Stay current on product knowledge, promotions, and dealership policies
