About The Position

The Parts / Tool Room Clerk is responsible for ensuring that adequate par levels of replacement parts and supplies for reassembly of rental tools and miscellaneous shop supplies as maintained for in-house use.

Requirements

  • The Parts / Tool Room position is a non-entry level position. Candidate must have some knowledge of the oilfield, preferably rental tools and equipment and previous similar experience. On the job training will be provided specific to applications of company policy and procedures.
  • High School diploma or equivalent, will accept 5 years in a related oilfield activity.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
  • Completion of Core Employee Safety Orientation, Powered Industrial Truck operator training and other training as identified on SSI Employee Training Matrix.
  • Heavy work classification.
  • Exerting 50 lbs frequently and/or occasionally.
  • Long periods of sitting, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching.
  • Push / Pull while exerting manual force.
  • Works outdoors.
  • Works with moving equipment.
  • Repetitive motions and manual handling of material.
  • Works at a rapid pace.
  • Ability to clearly communicate and command of the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and follows oral or written instructions to output completed projects.
  • Maintains adequate par levels of supplies needed for daily operations.
  • Maintains contact with associated vendors. Issues purchase order requisitions and places orders with approved vendors as necessary.
  • Receives and verifies order from vendor upon delivery.
  • Checks and verifies expiration dates of all consumable material.
  • Maintains Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and requests updated versions as necessary.
  • May load and unload material onto or from pallets or baskets by hand, or using alternative lifting equipment.
  • Operates powered industrial truck (Forklift) to stage and/or move miscellaneous equipment and supplies throughout the facility.
  • Applies knowledge of understanding and training to inspect material at this phase for completeness and conformity to company requirements.
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials and distributes to proper staging area.
  • Maintains housekeeping of general work area and as directed.
  • May be assigned to assist in other work areas as job demands dictate.
  • May perform simple adjustments and/or repairs to equipment within work area.
  • Participate in Safety and Quality programs.
  • Helps others to perform job tasks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
