As a Passive Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of Joint Service Provider Enterprise Transport Management - Next Gen (JSP ETM - NG). Selected candidate will support operations on-site at the Pentagon. Meaningful work and personal impact: The Passive Engineer is responsible for tasks assigned by Coordinators in connection with service orders and repair activities related to Category 6 cabling, Voice over IP networks (VOIP), and fiber optic cabling infrastructure. Maintaining the Inside Plant cable infrastructure to include conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber and all associated elements in the Pentagon, Mark Center, & buildings within the NCR supported by JSP. Performing 24/7/365 break-fix on all Inside Plant cable infrastructure under JSP purview. O&M support to include an ISP Registered Communications Distribution Designers (RCDD) to support the maintenance and clean-up of 1800 or more telecommunication rooms at the Pentagon, Mark Center and NCR and outlying buildings under JSP Operations purview, to include on site surveys, weekly reports denoting survey results (except in extenuating circumstances), develop maintenance plan for corrections and ensure the EIA/TIA 568A & 568B Standard and standards are upheld. Analyzes, administers, and maintains telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure.
